Stewart Weiner, former Assistant Principal of P.S. 20 Manhattan, an AAP executive board member, colleague and a dear friend was the personification of the adage “no one stands as tall as he who stoops to help a child,” and in his honor we have named our college scholarship.
This years winners were Chinedu Agu, his mother, Dorett Johnson-Agu is an AP at JHS 218 in Queens; Anthony John Cumuniello, his father, Anthony Cumuniello, is an AP at IS 96 in Queens and Marta Eggers, her mother, Eugenia Ellsworth, is an AP at PS 86 in Queens.
All AAP members who have a graduating high school senior (June 2009) are invited to apply for this scholarship. We award two high school students annually, the sum of $1,000 each. Your child must be pre-enrolled or accepted in an accredited college program.
